Two Day Aquatint and Drypoint Etching Course

Etching is an engrossing and highly expressive printmaking technique. This two day course is designed to introduce or revive your process skills. The image is drawn through a wax ground on the zinc plate, and then the plate is exposed to a corrosive salts bath which etches into the bared metal in a controlled way. Subtle tones are added with a traditional aquatinting process when fine rosin is baked onto the plate. As well as these mark making processes the application of the inks enables a wide range of expressive prints from a  plate.
