Relief printing is defined by what has been cut away, with the imageappearing from the uncut areas of the printing block. The ink can be rolloed on to the surface to be printed or can be applied to the block with a short bristled brush. Paper is placed over the freshlyy inked surface and pressure is applied to transfer the ink from the block to the paper.
